Becoming a member of the Baptist Forum for Aid and Development (BFAD) means joining a global network of Baptist organizations committed to compassionate action, collaborative partnership, and sustainable impact. Whether you serve in relief, development, advocacy, or community support, BFAD offers a welcoming space to share expertise, strengthen connections, and work together for the good of vulnerable communities worldwide. Membership Categories
Membership in BFAD is open to all BWA member partners and other Christian organizations with shared values. Generally, BFAD members fall into one of three categories:
• Response Partner – members who generally respond directly to disasters and crises in their contexts. These include conventions, churches, and organizations. Response Partners are eligible for training and funding opportunities and may serve in leadership roles and on committees.
• Resource Partner – members who serve primarily as donors to projects and/or have significant expertise in the humanitarian sector. Resource Partners are eligible for training and funding opportunities and may serve in leadership roles and on committees.
• Receiving Partner – members who will only participate in BFAD during a disaster response. Receiving partners are eligible to receive training and aid as needed to respond to a specific crisis
Membership Dues
Each member of the network is encouraged to contribute an annual membership fee, as outlined below. The goal is 100% of BFAD members will contribute to BFAD. Each Partner is expected to contribute utilizing the following guidelines and as their organizational capacity permits.
• Resource Partner > $1,000-$5,000
• Response Partner > $100-$1,000
• Receiving Partner > $100-$500
These dues support the coordination work of BFAD, including facilitating coordination calls and ongoing oversight of BFAD responses during disasters, maintaining monitoring and reporting systems, coordinating annual in-person gatherings for members, representing BFAD members in diverse settings, and providing administrative support for the network.
